Everyone has an opinion.
Mood:  quizzical
This is an open invitation to all people to speak freely on religion. Agree, disagree, laugh, get really pissed at me, or cry that finally someone shares your view but please do something.................................................................I want a real blog........... Not just a cybersite where I cry about all that is wrong with the world............ Please start some sort of intelligent conversation, I am dying to speak to someone of a like mind.

What is American Religion?
Mood:  special
We all have our own opinion. Here is mine please don’t take it personal this is just how I view this topic.
Order out of chaos
My personal belief as to why Christianity has branched off into so many different denominations is the fact that people change the meaning to suit their own needs. Example: rewriting the bible, there have been many versions of the bible. There has been mainly one version of the current bible to the extent that many followers fail to realize that they have read the King James Version.
Historically King James played a large roll in shaping the current day Christian to the extent I think few seem to realize. I will not spoil the fun of finding out who King James was or how he had the bible rewritten to suit his needs during his reign. I do leave an open challenge to anyone who would like to take a closer look at how this one man reshaped a faith that used to kill and concur in order to convert. Many would have considered it an act of communism if it had been done during current day society. Which to me is how the bible reads, no choice just conformity.
The Christian crusades
Many countries had no choice in becoming Christians, which lead to changing how the bible was interpreted. In order for people to be able to hold onto their true religion while being forced to become Christians doctrines changed.
Faced with death or pretending to be in complete awe of the bible many chose to play along. These cultures who had tough and often demanding doctrines lost their battle of continuing to play a major part in the life’s of the children being taught Christianity in public and their parents doctrines in private. As a child being faced with a religion that said you can come into a foreign continent where you whipped out the opposing people and ask for forgiveness and pass on into heaven or a religion where they were accountable for all of their actions from childhood on with no one to forgive them. Which would an active child choose?
This threat of eternal damnation has lead people to vary the true teaching of the bible in order to suit their own personal daily life. In an ever changing world with a set in stone map to life it is inconceivable to think people would be able to adhere to the word for word doctrine that the bible produces. The remaining religions of the world leave enough space for personal thought in their doctrines.
Current day loss of translation
The world over the thought of being a Christian has become such a trend; people display it like jewelry. W.W.J.D. bracelets became a popular trend years ago that had individuals whom were atheists wearing the bracelet just to fit in. I always said my bracelet stood for “ We Want Jack Daniels” which quickly caught on during high school.
