All gems and stones should be cleansed, concencrated and empowered. Moonlight and sunlight are good cleansers as well as spring water. They are usually worn close to ones person in a pouch or pocket. They can also be added to a wand to add special qualities to it.
Aventurine:
Color: green, blue, or red. Looks like it has metallic speckles. It is used mainly to bring luck.
Agates:
Color: varied. There are many different types of agates. Banded agates relieves stress and emotional pain. Milky white agates with bluish black spots are used in protection during travel. Indian, with an eye type formation in the center of stone, are used for bodily protection and survivle. Moss agates are healers, stimulating closures of wounds. They also act as a cleanser, stimulator and strengthener. Plume agate, milky with fiery red lines inside are good for visualization practice and reaching desired goals.
Amber:
Color: yellow or orange. This is an all purpose gem used for protecting children, a spell strengtherner, andstimulate the flow of money towards you.
Amethyst:
Color: transparent crystalline purple. This is used to transform negative energy and strengthen the third eyes vision or your intuitive sense, it is also good for headaches.
Bloodstone:
Color: very dark green with red or orange spots or bands. It is used for healing both internal and external difficulties. Great for protecting pregnant woman and as a stress reliever.
Carnelian:
Color: transparent orange or red. A powerful action stone, a sucess stimulator for carrer minded individuals.
Crystals:
Color: clear. These are all purpose stones. They can enhance psychic powers, aid in vision questing, worn as protective shields, used for prophecy, energy, thought retrieval, and projectors.
Fluorite:
Color: varigated translucent blue, purple, pink or blue-green. This stone is great to use during meditation to contact your higher self and can assist you in learning about your past lifes. It is also used to strengthen analystical and intellectual abilities. I wear one around my neck all the time, one of my favorite stones.
Geodes:
Sone balls with crystal, amethyst or topaz centers. In magick these stones can be used to concentrate power before its release.
Jaspers:
Color: varied, but a hard opaque stone. They strengthen your energy flow and help to relieve stress. Red jaspers are often used in night protection, defensive magick, and return of negative energy. Green Jaspers for healing, and brown jaspers for ground and stability.
Malachite:
Color: blue or green with variegated bands. This stone is used as warning of danger and also helps with vision questing.
Moonstone:
Color: pink, white, blue or green. This stone promotes love, compassion and sympathy. It is also used to aid in secon sight, enhance psychic powers, and unblocking emotions between two lovers.
Obsidian:
Color: black. Also called "apache tears", it is used as a stone of protection.
Rhodochrosite:
Color: variegated pink and white. This stone will give you energy if you are feeling tired.
Rose quartz:
Color: pink. This stone encourages peaceful and loving feelings, and promotes beauty, love of self and others.
Smokey quartz:
Color: translucent grey/black. This stone is a energy generator and a stone of protection.
Solalite:
Color: deep blue with strands of white. The stone is used as a stress reliever, it enables you not to be as affected by the minor upheavels in day to day life. It is also a good stone to use when meditating.
Sunstone:
Color: tangerine, looks like a slice of orange. This stone is a energizer and a cellualar healer, great for cancer patients.
Tiger eye:
Color: brown with banded tints. This stone is used for luck, honesty and acurate judgement calls.
Turquoise:
Color: baby blue. This stone is used to enhance verbal abilities, love, happiness, and health. It is also used as a protector of the spirit.
