Anime and Manga GuysHere is a not-so-comprehensive list of my favorite anime and manga guys. I admit, I did no scanning myself, and all these images are from other sites. However, I do try to be careful and take only images which seem to be everywhere, so no one's hard work gets stolen. Also, this page is not supposed to give the whole story on every character. I'm only trying to get across his personality, why I like him, and a little background. Enjoy!

Sagara Sanosuke
Name: Sagara Sanosuke Series: Rurouni Kenshin Sagara Sanosuke was a soldier-in-training during the Meiji Revolution. He was a member of the Sekihoutai, an elite branch of the military. However, when the government told the people that they were going to lower taxes, and then decided not to, they needed a scapegoat. They chose the Sekihoutai. All its members, with the exception of Sanosuke and one other, were executed. Because of this, Sanosuke took the surname of the leader, a man named Sagara Suzo. Sano also hates the Meiji government, and started wearing the character for "bad" (aku) on his back, because of the way the government wrote "'bad' on the backs of the Sekihoutai". He became a fighter-for-hire for a little while, until he was defeated by Kenshin Himura and became his friend. He used this gigantic sword called the Zanbatou, which could destroy a horse and carraige all in one strike. Just his ability to use it at all demonstrates his great strength, and he used it very well, until Kenshin cut it in half. After that, Sano fought barehanded. One of the things I really like about him is his attitude. Although I'm not sure he ever actually says this in the series (I haven't seen the whole thing), his entire bearing seems to say, "Bring it on!" He's got a strong sense of honor, and even though there are times when all he wants to do is overthrow the government, he would never risk getting innocent people involved. Want more info? Check out Character Profile- Sagara Sanosuke for someone else's take on Sano, a LOT more information, probably more accurate spelling, and other stuff. Or try RK Image Gallery for some pretty cool pics. Also, watch Rurouni Kenshin, Episode 4: "Bad!" for his really cool introduction. |
Duo Maxwell
Name: Duo Maxwell Series: Gundam Wing Duo is the pilot of Gundam Deathscythe, in my opinion the coolest Gundam. Of course, in my opinion, Duo is the coolest pilot. He hails from the L2 colony, and, like the other Gundam pilots, was originally sent to Earth for Operation Meteor. Before that, though, he was orphaned by the war, and was in a group of war orphans. He eventually got caught and was sent to the Maxwell church. (another guy who takes his name from something in his past) However, the colony was attacked and the church was destroyed, but Duo lived. Angry, he stowed away on the Sweepers ship, but was caught once again, this time by Professor G. It was Professor G who made him into a Gundam pilot. One of the most fascinating things about Duo is his dual personality. He uses the alias "Shinigami," or "God of Death," when fighting. His sense of humor, always prevalent, becomes darker, and let's just say that "God of Death" fits him perfectly. In less dire circumstances, though, he is one of the most cheerful and THE most fun gundam pilot. He is easily recognized by his yard-long hair, big blue eyes, and cool wardrobe. This guy also has a "bring-it-on" attitude, something I really, really love. Can't get enough of Duo? Take a look at Soul of Darkness: A Duo Maxwell Shrine. It's got just about everything a devoted fan needs. |
Duo Maxwell
Name: Seishuku Saihitei Series: Fushigi Yuugi Hotohori is the very young emperor of Hong-nan, and one of the Seishi of the Suzaku no Miko (priestess of Suzaku). He became emperor when he was only fourteen, at the ambition of his mother, who later died. Despite war and his own inexperience, he managed to keep things going. When Miaka appeared, he fell in love with her, but even after he realized she loved Tamahome, he still protected her, and bore no grudge against Tamahome. Because of his beauty and his long hair, Miaka mistakes him for a woman at first. Actually, this happens more than once throughout the series. First of all, I love his hair. I really, really love his hair. And he is a deadly swordsman. How cool it that? On top of that, he is an incredibly sweet guy, as the example above clearly shows. Am I obsessed? Maybe. Are you obsessed? Then go to Fushigi Yuugi Hotohori Shrine and knock yourself out. BACK |
