Chapter 17
Kevin was in the kitchen working on dinner while Sarah sat at the piano in the living room. She was plinking at the keys haphazardly until something hit her and she began to play. Kevin recognized it right away; the alternate lyrics to 'I Want It That Way' that he and the guys had written. What he wasn't expecting was her singing the song. Oh, he knew Sarah could play the piano. She had done it numerous times at rehearsals and at gatherings with the others, but he didn't know she could sing. He stopped what he was doing and moved to the doorway to listen to her. When she finished, Kevin said, "Baby, that was amazing." Shyly, Sarah looked up to say, "Thanks, but I'm not nearly as good as you and the rest of the guys." Kevin moved to her and sat beside her on the bench. He wrapped his arm around her. "You are every bit as good as us, Sarah. Why don't you do another song? I'll play for you." Shaking her head, she said doubtfully, "I don't know, 'Boo'. Are you sure you want to hear me?" "I'm positive." "Okay…but you don't need to play ... .I kinda had this in mind to be an a capella for a group." Ooh/Do-do-do-do-do/Do-do-do-do-do/Ooh/Do-do-do-do-do Sand keeps slipping right through my hands/Days all feel the same, still numb from you/First step off of this plane, I knew/
I suffocate without you, heart beats for two It was good/What we had
/If it was paradise/Can somebody take me back?/
And it hurts/Looking back/If this is for the best/Then tell me why it hurts so bad Don't let go when the daylight's gone/'Cause it's always darkest before the dawn/I breathe, oh/When the cold air starts filling up my lungs/When I hate the things that I've become/I breathe, oh Ooh/Do-do-do-do-do/Do-do-do-do-do/Ooh, ooh/Do-do-do-do-do Regrets dancing around my head, everything I never said/Still numb from you/Secrets sleeping all over this bed/Memories of what we did/Got mixed with you And it hurts/Looking back/If this is for the best/Then tell me why it hurts so bad Don't let go when the daylight's gone/'Cause it's always darkest before the dawn/I breathe/When the cold air starts filling up my lungs/When I hate the things that I've become/I breathe Ooh/Do-do-do-do-do/Do-do-do-do-do/Ooh, ooh/Breathe (Oh, I breathe)/Ooh/Do-do-do-do-do/Do-do-do-do-do/Ooh, ooh/Breathe Sand keeps slipping right through my hands/Days all feel the same, still numb from you ('Breathe' from the DNA CD by the Backstreet Boys) As Sarah sang, Kevin listened to the words and knew that one phone call had really gotten to her and she was hurting. He knew at that moment that all he could do was enjoy the time they had together but she would definitely end up with Howie. It was just a matter of time. When Sarah finished, Kevin hugged her close and could feel her tears on his shoulder. "Baby, that was beautiful." "I'm sorry, Kevin. It kinda put a damper on this weekend." Kevin knew she was talking about the phone call as well as the song but he had done the same thing with the song he'd sung to her the night before. He shook his head, "I know what's in your heart, Sarah…you love Howie with your whole being. I saw it that first night we met. You two look at each other like the other walks on water…a love that will last a lifetime…and endure through hard times. You'll find a way back to each other eventually. Until then, I'll take whatever time I have with you. I do love you and I know you love me too..just not the way you love 'D'. I'm not going to stop hoping for more though." Sarah reached to wipe a stray tear from Kevin's cheek. "I do love you, 'Boo'. You're my best friend." "No, tied with her. She's my best female friend and you're my best male friend…other than 'D'....you're the one who gives me the male perspective on relationships when 'D' and I are having problems." "Tell you what, dinner will be ready in a few minutes. Why don't you go up and change into something a little sexier than my jersey and a pair of shorts?" Sarah laughed, "Which gown do you want me to wear?" "It's on the bed, baby." She shook her head, "You bought another gown? I don't know why. I never wear them for more than a few minutes before you're taking them off of me." Kevin laughed, "Just humor me. Besides, this will be more than a few minutes. Now go change." Sarah gave Kevin a quick kiss and rushed up to the bedroom to find a beautiful emerald gown on the bed. She smiled to herself and quickly changed. She went into the bathroom to brush out her hair and splash a little perfume. Returning to the kitchen, Kevin was wearing nothing but a pair of lounging pants as he finished dinner. "It smells divine. Another of your talents?" asked Sarah as she put her hands on his waist. "It had to learn or starve when I first moved to Orlando," explained Kevin as he touched her nose with his finger. "Now, pour some wine for us and I'll bring our plates out to the patio." Before she moved away from him, Sarah looked up into Kevin's eyes. "'Boo', I promise, you will always have my undivided attention when we're together." Kevin cupped her face in one large hand, "I know, baby." The two went about getting their drinks and dinner to move out to the patio to eat. Talk was about music, the farm, and general talk was the main focus of dinner and when it was done, they worked together to clean up the kitchen before returning to the patio where Kevin had soft music and torches burning around the perimeter that cast a soft glow. Kevin took her hand in his, "Dance with me?" "I'd love to." Pulling her close, the couple moved to the music. They gazed into each other's eyes, kissed softly between songs, and simply enjoyed the time in each other's arms. After almost an hour of dancing, Kevin stepped back away and said, "Give me a minute." Sarah watched as Kevin moved around the patio putting out the torches so that it was dark on the patio. Then he moved back to her and led her to the chaise lounge where they sat together, Sarah between his legs as she leaned back against his bare chest and his arms wrapped around her. They sat in silence gazing at the stars. From time to time, one of them would point out a shooting star or a particularly bright star. They listened to the sounds of the night and Kevin even sang softly to her. It was well after midnight when the couple made their way up to the bedroom holding onto each other. When Kevin opened the door, she was beyond surprised to see the room filled with wildflowers and lit candles. "When did you do this?" questioned Sarah. "I can't reveal all my secrets," smirked Kevin, his nose scrunched, and he scooped her up in his arms carrying her into the room and setting her on her feet beside the bed. He reached up to slip the straps of the gown off her shoulders watching it pool at her feet. "You are so beautiful," he praised as he reverently touched her breasts. "You have no idea what you do to men when they see you." Reaching for the drawstrings of his pants, Sarah untied them, letting them join her gown on the floor. She reached for him, grasping his cock in her hand. Purring, as she placed kisses on his chest all the while stroking his cock, "I…have a good….idea…of…what I do…to you." Kevin leaned his head back, groaning, "Oh…god…baby…that feels so good." "I bet I can make it feel even better," and she knelt down on her knees to take his cock into her mouth. Slowly, she took him in, her tongue wrapping around the head and then down the length. Her nose was nestled in the curls as she grasped his sack and she felt him getting harder in her mouth. Up and down his shaft, she worked him, sucking and licking the hard rod. As she felt his thighs beginning to tense, she pulled off and stood up. "Lay on the bed…on your back, 'Boo'." Kevin complied with her request and she joined him in a 69. He moaned as she licked her from bottom to top. "Oh, baby ... .this is so perfect," he moaned as she took him in her mouth again, sucking and loving him as she had before. They both took their time doing all the things they had learned about pleasuring each other. In no time at all, they were both spiraling over the edge of ecstasy. Sarah moved to lay beside Kevin, her head on his shoulder. She ran her hand along his belly. "Umm, that was so good." Pressing a kiss to her forehead, Kevin said, "Definitely." "Thank you for this weekend, Kevin." Kevin took her hand and began to suck each finger into his mouth. "I have loved being with you, baby." "Oh, god…" moaned Sarah. With a soft laugh, Kevin rolled so that he was partially on top of her and placed his hand on her breast. "It gets better," he whispered as he took one firm mound in his mouth, his tongue running around her areola and his teeth nipping at her nipple eliciting pleasured moans from Sarah. He continued his 'loving' of her breasts as a hand ran down her belly to her nether region. Skillfully, he parted her folds and inserted two fingers as his thumb pressed against her swollen bud. His lips and fingers were tied together creating a current that was pushing her into bliss. "Feels like you want more." "I … do…oh, god…You know how to push all the right buttons." "Um huh….but so do you," and he moved to enter her with his renewed erection. "Oh, baby…you are so hot and tight….I just can't get enough of you," and he began to move in and out of her. He took her hands in his and held them above her head. The couple moved in perfect rhythm as they made love, slowly and passionately, paying attention to all the erotic spots on each other's bodies. In a heated explosion, the couple reached their peaks, for Sarah, multiple times. Sated, sweaty, and exhausted, the couple lay together. They touched lovingly, enjoying just being together. Kevin eventually moved to take Sarah in his arms, her back against his, and his arms holding her tight, a leg draped across hers. "This weekend has been perfect…and no matter what happens in the future, you will always be my baby." "You'll always be my 'Boo'," whispered Sarah sleepily. Kevin placed kisses along her shoulder and listened as she slipped into a peaceful sleep. When he was sure he could move and not wake her, he got up and moved around the room to blow out the candles then grabbed his phone. Stepping into the hall, Kevin pressed the familiar number. He waited, then said, "Hey…everything's fine…our flight lands at 6:05, Flight 1105….American….it's up to you what you do….later." Hanging up, Kevin went back into the room, set his phone down on the dresser and rejoined Sarah. He gathered her in his arms again and drifted to sleep as he imagined her being pregnant with his child.
