Chapter 87
Chelsea woke to the feel of Alex's soft kisses on her shoulder and his hand caressing her belly. The warmth radiated through her belly easing the cramps that had woken her.
"Mmmm, feels good," she whispered, turning her head to kiss him.
"You were moaning in your sleep and NOT a moan like when we make love. Your pills and some water are on your night-table by your phone."
"You are so wonderful! Thank you," purred Chelsea as she sat up to take the pills. When she was done, she scooted back down to snuggle next to Alex.
"How do you feel?"
"Like crap but I'll survive."
"What time is your dad going to be here?"
"Elevenish. We're going to take Annie to the beach after lunch."
"Mind if I tag along to lunch with you?"
"Kinda thought you were going anyway…so you and Daddy could get to know you."
Alex caressed her cheek. "I wasn't sure if you wanted me tagging along…especially since you two just got back on good terms."
"I do NOT want to wait until after the wedding for you two to meet."
"Worried?"
"No. Seven years ago, I stopped worrying what my daddy thought about who I dated and wanted to be with."
"You think he'll talk to your brothers?"
"I'm going to ask him to. We used to be so close…the three musketeers. It made the constant moving so much easier because we had each other."
"Until I joined the group, I never really had brothers but now I have four and it's a blast. I can't imagine not having them around."
"We need to get moving so we can get some breakfast. I'm starving."
Alex leaned in, touching his lips to hers and kissing her slowly. When he pulled back, he brushed her hair out of her face. "Do you have a session with Michelle this morning?"
Chelsea groaned as she rolled her eyes. "Yes!"
"It'll be worth it, beautiful," laughed Alex. Then, getting serious, he gazed into her eyes. "Chelsea…"
"What's wrong, Alex?" questioned Chelsea, seeing his hesitation and the seriousness in his eyes.
"I'm still worried about meeting your father. I'm not exactly the Marine type. Hell, even Kevin had issues with your dad."
Chelsea laughed, "Kevin had issues with Daddy because he stood up to him and told him what he was and wasn't going to do. Daddy is used to giving orders, not taking them."
"And it should have been me fixing the issues between you and your dad."
"No, it shouldn't have. You didn't create the problems, Kevin did."
Alex played with Chelsea's fingers. "Baby, Kevin used to always tell you to close your eyes and make a wish and then he'd make that wish come true. I want to be the one who does that for you now."
"First off, I started that…for Kevin. It was something daddy used to do when I was little, especially after we'd moved. He gave me 'Bo' by telling me that. Second, YOU ARE the one making my dreams come true now, I promise."
"I thought…"
Chelsea smiled gently, "Just relax, Alex. Meeting Daddy isn't going to be that bad. You're a good man and Daddy is going to like you. Just be yourself…not AJ…be the man that was worried about Annie getting hurt, the man who didn't want me to have to face Kevin's temper alone, the man who stayed by my side at the hospital."
Alex smiled, "I think I can do that. Thank you, baby."
With one more deep, soulful kiss, the couple got up to get ready for their day.
