“So, how much talking did you two do last night?” joked Nick as the five guys sat waiting to do an interview.
“Enough for me to know that Chelsea’s picture of the perfect wedding is missing something that she will never admit she truly wants.”
“Her father?” asked Kevin.
AJ nodded and looked down at his hands. “I’ve got to fix it,” he said softly.
“How?”
“I don’t know, ‘Rok’.”
Kevin looked at the man who loved Chelsea more than he’d ever imagined. He spoke now, “I’ll fix it, Alex.”
All four men looked up at Kevin who stood against the wall.
“I’m the one who created the problem when I got her pregnant. I’ll go to him and try to talk to him.”
“He’s not going to even let you in the door,” said Brian.
“I’ll make him let me in.”
“Howie, talk to him,” tried Nick.
“Take Marcus with you,” suggested Howie. “And you aren’t going to have much time. We’ve only got a day for travel between shows.”
“I’ll get Marcus to make the travel arrangements since he knows Major Whitlock.” Looking at AJ, Kevin said, “I don’t think we should tell Chelsea about this until we know the outcome.”
“I agree. I don’t want to get her hopes up.”
“She’s going to ask where I am so we’ll just use my business interests outside of the group as a cover.”
“Thank you, Kevin,” said AJ gratefully.
