Part 66
The show had been phenomenal and Chelsea was on Cloud 9! She practically floated backstage when the show was over and when AJ saw her, he rushed to take her in his arms.
“ALEX!! The show was awesome!”
“You really liked it?”
“Yes!”
From behind the couple, “PAPA J!”
AJ set Chelsea down but he kept his arm around her waist as Annie ran to hug him. “Did you like the show?”
“I LOVED it.”
Denise joined the three and gave each one a hug. “Congratulations! Alex, you’ve made a very smart choice.”
“Thanks, Mama.”
“Chelsea, if you need any help, just let me know.”
“I will!”
“We’ve got to get going,” said Alex. “Annie, do you mind riding with your daddy tonight?”
“No sir.”
“Thank you, Pumpkin.” Seeing Kevin with his family, he called out, “Kevin.”
“What’s up?”
“We need Annie to ride with you so Chelsea and I can talk.”
“No problem. Come on, sweetheart.”
Annie gave her mother a hug as Chelsea said, “Mind your daddy and I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Yes ma’am.”
As AJ gave Annie another hug, she asked, “Did you ask my Mama to marry you?”
“I sure did. Are you okay with that?”
“Of course!! You make Mama VERY happy!”
“Your mom makes me very happy too. We’ll see you tomorrow,” and he gave her a kiss on the forehead.
As soon as Annie was gone, AJ asked his mother, “What shows are you coming to?”
“I’m not sure yet. Tony and I have to look at our schedules but I promise, I will DEFINITELY be at the show August 6th.”
“You have a show August 6th?” panicked Chelsea.
“In Virginia. I thought your realized that.”
“NO!! We can’t get married August 6th!”
“Why not?”
“Because you have a show!”
AJ laughed as he hugged Chelsea to him. “We’ll talk on the bus later. Mama, just call us when you and Tony know what you’re going to do.”
“I will. You two have a safe trip and I love you both,” said Denise as she gave each of them a hug.
“You’re chariot awaits, my ‘Beautiful’!”
“Where’s Michelle?”
From the door, Marcus called, “Come ON, ‘Bone’!! You’re late as usual!!”
“Where’s Michelle?” questioned Chelsea again but to Marcus.
“She said to tell you she’s with Nick and she’ll see you in the morning at the hotel for PT.”
Arm in arm, AJ and Chelsea headed out to the bus stopping only to sign a few autographs of the die hard fans waiting after the show before boarding the bus to the next town.
