Part 1
The bus rolled to a stop in front of the venue and from inside the bus, he watched the crowd surge. This was the part he hated the most about what he did. He’d read accounts of fans being trampled to death in their overzealous attempts to get closer to the star and he was deathly afraid of something similar happening at one of their shows.
"Damn!" muttered the young man as he watched a young fan get knocked to the ground but he sighed in relief when he saw someone scoop the little girl up. He made a quick note to himself to look for her in the crowd. He wanted to make sure she, the little girl and mom, got an autograph.
"Did you see that ‘J’? Man, I don’t know how someone doesn’t get seriously hurt sometimes," commented Nick as he sat on the front steps just behind the driver recording the scene outside the bus.
From the back, Kevin spoke up, "As soon as security has everything in place, I’m going first, then Howie, AJ, Brian, and Nick last."
"Why do I have to go last all the time?"
"Cuz you’re the youngest and Kevin can still boss you around," teased Howie.
"Mostly because you’ve got a mess to clean up on the bus," shot Kevin as he threw a handful of Nick’s clothes at him.
"God, I DID NOT miss this about you," mumbled Nick as he turned off the camera and made his way back into the back of the bus grabbing the dirty clothes Kevin had thrown at him.
Kevin just smirked as the young blonde brushed by him still mumbling something about how his own mother never made him pick up.
Brian noticed that AJ was still staring out at the crowd and nudged him. "You okay, Alex?"
AJ shook his head and looked at Brian. "I guess."
"What ‘cha looking at?"
"I’m trying to find the little girl who got knocked down when we pulled up. I want to make sure I sign something for her."
"That’s gonna be hard if she’s not near the front of the crowd. Come on, let’s get ready to get off here. We’ve got an interview to do."
AJ shook his head and followed Brian to the back of the bus to get his things together before they all headed inside.
