Chapter 29
Looking at the calendar, Dominique marked off the days. Her time in the clinic was winding down and in just six days, she'd be joining Richie in Quebec. They had plans to spend time there before joining the others at the next venue. She was excited to finally be on her own - free of Chris and the nightmares of his torture - and with Richie.
The phone rang interrupting her daydream of being in his arms and she answered, "Hello."
"Hey, beautiful! How are you?"
"JON! I'm great but what are you doing calling me?"
"I needed to talk to you without Richie around."
"Where is he?"
"Working on some music."
"So what's up? What did you want to talk to me about?"
"I want to surprise Richie for his birthday. Is there any way you can leave the clinic sooner than you'd planned?"
"Sure. I checked in voluntarily so I can leave when I want to. What do you have in mind?"
"A cake and you about mid-way through the show."
"I wasn't exactly happy about missing his birthday but .... I love your idea, Jon. What time do you want me there?"
"Show starts at 7:30. If you don't want to worry about Richie seeing you, you can wait until we go onstage around 8:30 and William will get you in to see the show from a safe spot. Or, you can come and hang out in my dressing room. It's totally up to you."
"I may come early so I can go shopping for a gift."
"Sweetheart, just having you there for his birthday will be more than enough for him. I'll call you tomorrow to firm up all the details. Don't let on to Richie."
"I won't. I'll talk to you tomorrow, Jon." Hanging up, Dominique felt the excitement begin to bubble. Instead of six days, she would be in Richie's arms in just a matter of a couple of days. She quickly grabbed the phone to call her father. They talked for a few minutes making the necessary arrangements. When she hung up, it was set.
The phone rang once more and she answered, "Hello!"
"You're in a mighty good mood! Who have you been talking to?"
"Daddy! We were making the necessary arrangements for me to join you in Quebec....and now I'm talking to you....my two favorite men in one day."
"'Princess', that's six days away."
"I know, but it's that much closer to us FINALLY being together. I wish you could have been here this week. It would have made these next six days more tolerable."
"I know but I promised Jon we'd work on new material."
"I know but it doesn't make it any easier! Richie, I'm excited! For the first time in four years, I am in control of my life. I can go wherever I want and be with the man of my dreams....the man who truly loves me."
Richie could hear the excitement in her voice. "I wish I was there to see the look on your face."
"Don't worry. It'll still be there when I join you. I don't think it'll EVER go away. So, what do you want for your birthday?"
"Oh, she's about 5' 6", olive complexion, the most incredible jade eyes, and a body that could make a dead man cum."
"Really? That's all you want?"
"Yep!"
"What if I can't find her?" she teased.
Richie laughed, "Guess I'll have to settle for you."
"Haha...very funny!" she countered sarcastically.
"'Princess', YOU are all I want for my birthday."
"But I'm not going to be there for your birthday."
"I can wait."
Dominique sighed as she sat down on her bed and grabbed 'Star'. Hugging it tight, she could smell his cologne and the image of being in his arms flashed. "I know all you want is for me to join you but I really want go get something for you....a gift."
"Whatever you pick will be fine and it'll be special because it'll be from you."
"What does your heart desire most?"
"You!"
"Arrgggg! You are SOOOO frustrating! I'm TRYING to get an idea for a birthday gift for you."
Richie chuckled, "We've been together for what....."
"Five months."
"We are going to finally be together in less than a week. All I want is to hold you close, kiss you, touch you..." He hesitated, then said, "All I want to do is make love to you."
On her end of the line, Dominique felt the heat in her cheeks and hugged 'Star' tight. Shyly, she said, "I want that too, Richie."
"From the very first night, having you as my lady has been the only thing on my mind. Now, we can take it to the next level, to be a couple in every aspect."
"I'm just a little ....."
"Shh, it's okay to be nervous, but we've talked about it, Dominique."
"I know. I just don't want to disappoint you."
"That will NEVER happen, 'Princess'. How long can you talk?"
Dominique looked at the clock and groaned. "I have to be at a session in ten minutes."
"I'll call you back around ten so we can talk longer. I love you, Dominique."
"I love you too, Richie."
