MEETING OF THE COMMONWEALTH TRANSPORTATION BOARD

Moved by Dr. Thomas, seconded by Mr. Newcomb, that

WHEREAS, in accordance with its needs and schedules for implementing its program objectives, the Department has determined that in order to perform the necessary activities to meet those objectives for preparation of complete survey, traffic (data and analysis), complete right of way, construction plans and structure and bridge plans for the construction of four lane roadway with a sixteen foot median, bike way and bridges for Project U000-104-102, PE-101; and 0631-002-128, C-502 in the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County, it is necessary to supplement its staff; and

WHEREAS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE Department Policy and State Procurement procedures a firm proposal has been received from Wilbur Smith Associates, for said services; and

WHEREAS, careful review and consideration has been made of the scope of work and services required and just compensation has been established for these services and is set forth in the Memorandum of Agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board authorize the execution of the Agreement with the firm of Wilbur Smith Associates, Inc., which establishes a compensation of $1,362,927,21 for services and expenses, plus a net fee of $43,243.01 [Note: amended to be 79,755.01 (an additional $36,512.00 added to the net fee) on December 21, 1995 by the Commonwealth Transportation Board], making the total maximum compensation not to exceed $1,406,170.22 [Note: becomes $1,442,682.22 when additional $36,512.00 added to total maximum compensation].
