Pack Camp Out 

When: Saturday May 22 & Sunday May 23, 2004

Where: Roanoke Mountain Camp Ground on the Blue Ridge Parkway

Time:  4:00 pm Saturday to 9:00 am Sunday. You may set-up your camp and enjoy the outdoors between 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm.

Cost: $14.00 for camp-site, to be paid at the camp site,

Events:           Come and enjoy field games, a hike or conservation project, campfire fun, skits, graduation ceremonies and more.

Food:                 All meals are your Den’s or family’s choice (Sat. dinner, Sun. breakfast). Den parents may coordinate food and cooking. Be creative and keep it simple – plan meals that are easy to fix. Don’t forget your paper products – plates, cups, napkins, spoons, and forks – plus the marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate for your s’mores.

4:00 pm          Flag Ceremony, activities

6:00 pm           Dinner with your family or Den

7:30 pm           Pack Campfire

8:46 pm          S’mores at the camp sites

9:45 pm       Lights out

8:00 am          Devotional

BSA Youth Protection Program requires Parents or Guardians to be on site at all times. You may not drop your child off.

CAMP OUT PACKING LIST

For Scouts and Adults:

‡                    Tent

‡                    Hot dog/Marshmallow sticks

‡                    Sleeping Bag or Bed Roll

‡                    Extra Blanket

‡                    Ground Pad

‡                    Rain Gear

‡                    Scout Uniform (Class A or Class B is acceptable)

‡                    Jacket

‡                    1 Pair long pants or sweat pants

‡                    2 extra pairs of socks

‡                    1 extra pair of shoes

‡                    Cup for hot and cold beverages

‡                    Canteen or other water container

‡                    Flashlight with fresh batteries

‡                    Personal toiletries

‡                    Chair or camp stools

‡                    A “Good Scout” attitude

Den or Family Gear:

‡                    First Aid kit

‡                    Food for Saturday Dinner, and Sunday Breakfast

‡                    Stove and fuel, charcoal and matches, cooking utensils as needed

‡                    Paper Products – Plates, Cups, Napkins, Spoons, Forks

‡                    Extra Water containers

‡                    Trash Bags

‡                    Extra toilet paper

‡                    Paper towels

‡                    Shovel, rake, water bucket for campfire

‡                    Cooler for perishables

‡                    Den flags
