The romance began when we became friends in high school. Our first date was to the Richlands High School homecoming dance on October 13, 1995 (Friday the 13th!) and we've been inseparable ever since. Nadeem proposed at his home in front of our families on December 26, 2002. We will tie the knot on August 23, 2003.
Nadeem graduated from Richlands High School in 1996. He then received a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Virginia in 2000. He is currently a fourth-year medical student at UVA and will graduate on May 16, 2004. He then plans to enter a residency in surgery.
Karen graduated from Richlands High School in 1997. She transferred to UVA in 1999 and received a B.A. in biology in 2001. She then worked for a year as a surgical nurse at the Virginia-Maryland Veterinary Hospital in Blacksburg. In the Fall of 2002, Karen returned to Charlottesville and is currently a second-degree nursing student at UVA. She will graduate as a Registered Nurse, B.S.N. on May 16, 2004. She hopes to initially work as an ICU nurse and eventually become a nurse anesthetist.

A block of rooms has been reserved at Embassy Suites for Friday and Saturday night. Inform the hotel you are part of the Cochran-Khuri wedding for a special rate of $89.00/ night. Two room options are available: king size bed or two doubles. Each room is a two room suite with a queen-size sleeper sofa and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a wet bar, coffeemaker, microwave, and refrigerator.Friday night, complimentary drinks will be served to hotel guests in the Embassy Suites lobby from 5-7pm. Saturday and Sunday morning a complimentary, cooked-to-order breakfast is available for hotel guests. Other amenities include a fitness facility, indoor heated pool, sun deck, whirlpool and sauna.
