Yardage: can be a three-fabric quilt or a scrappy
Background: 1 3/4
yard -- muslin for a 30's look - dark for an Amish look - keep
the same fabric (6 1/2" extra fabric)
Print: 1 1/2
yards -- can be scrappy** - can be a bold Flamingo Print we all
know and love - 30's prints - jewel tones for Amish look (8 1/2"
extra fabric)
Solid: 1 yard --
can be scrappy** - That Green for a 30's look - more jewel tones
for an Amish look (8" extra fabric)
**See each step for needed fabric cutting requirements.
"Extra fabric" means you have a cushion from the actual yardage you needed for mistakes.
Yardage was calculated based on 40" usable fabric - 45" is the general width of fabric. Check solids because sometimes they only give you 39" of usable fabric. Remove selvages before cutting strips.
(All measurements include 1/4" seam allowances.)
PART 1:
Solid: Cut 1 strip 2" x 45"
Print: Cut 1 strip 2 1/2" x 45"
Background: Cut 1 strip 9 1/2" x 45"
(If you want a scrappy look use Fat Quarters which are only 21" wide and cut 2 strips.)
With right sides together, sew the 2" solid to the 2 1/2" print piece. Press to the print.

Sew the background to the print piece. Press to the background.

Cut the sewn set of strips apart every 2".

NEED: 20 Units - label PART 1 and set aside till later.
