Module 8 Test

1)      You should always use either daytime running lights or low-beam headlights so you are more visible to other drivers on the roadway.

2)      When driving in fog you should always drive with your low-beam lights on.

3)      When drivers are temporarily blinded by headlight glare the eyes recovery time becomes longer as the driver gets older

4)      If the rear of your vehicle skids either left or right, you should ease off the brake or accelerator and steer toward the lane you want to drive in.

5)      If your vehicle starts to hydroplane you should ease off the accelerator and do not brake.

6)      If you are going to be in a collision, and there is no way of avoiding it, you should control brake and steer so that you collide with the object at an angle.

7)      A rear facing infant seat should be secured in the middle of the back seat.

8)      You are traveling 55 MPH and your vehicle drifts off on to a shoulder that is 3 inches lower than the roadway…you should ease off the accelerator, move your wheels 12-18 inches from the road edge, and steer very slightly back into your lane.

9)      Children under the age of 12 should always ride secured in the back seat.

10)  Traveling during rush hour does not make local trips easier.

11)  When preparing for long distance trips you should have your vehicle serviced.

12)  When you will be doing all of the driving you should limit trips to 8 hours per day.

13)  If you are planning a trip to a place you have never been before you should plan the route and stops before you leave.

14)  When planning the route for a long trip you should evaluate the risks of all the routes.

15)  When driving on the highway, sudden cross winds can move your car into another lane.

16)  The loss of traction emergency most difficult to identify is hydroplaning.

17)  The biggest problem associated with front-wheel lock up is the inability to steer.

18)  When driving up a slippery hill you can reduce the chance of wheels spinning by keeping progressive pressure on the accelerator.

19)  Head restraints are most effective in rear-end collisions.

20)  The best way to prevent skidding on slippery road surfaces is to steer and brake smoothly and gradually.

21)  The most important factor in deciding how fast you can drive in the fog is how far ahead you can see.

22)  When traveling in very hot weather you should check your tire pressure when the tires are cool.

23)  When it is raining your speed should be influenced most by the amount of traction you have.
