THE REASON I COON HUNT

Reason #1. For a long time in my life is coonhunting was the only thing that brought happiness to my life.

Reason #2. There is nothing like being out on a Mid November night when the Moon's light sparkles off the frost and looks like a million shining diamonds. To hear your old hound voice break through the cool air.

Reason #3. To hear an old hound work a bad track while you and your buddy set on a log and tell tales of previous coon hunts.

Reason #4. When you hear that old hound lock down and start to tree. It just brings pride to a man's heart to hear his dog tree. There is no sweetier sound in this world than a hound treeing.

Reason #5. Steping out of a nice warm truck into a bitterly cold winter night to go to a pack of hounds treed a mile away

Reason#6. To listen to my buddies tell the same story for the thousandth time, and sit and listen like it was the first.

Reason#7. To escape the pressures of the world for a few hours

Reason#8. Coonhunting gives me a feeling that could only be described as heavenly love.

Reason#9. To grow closer to my Brothers "friends"

Reason#10. The feeling of completness that is feeled when 3 brothers "friends" walk down a gas well road after a pack of dogs they haven't seen in a while.

Reason#11. The ride back from the hunt with talk already about the next hunt

Reason #12. There is nothing like the bond between a coonhunter and his hound. It is a bond that is thick as blood.

Reason #13. All of the unexpected adventures that can arise. For example getting lost, tailgate latch tearing up, getting stuck in the mud, etc.

Reason #14. One of the best things about a coonhunting in my opinion is not the actual killing of the coon but the the time spent talking with friends, or listening to Pa telling us about past coonhunts.

This section of my page is dedicated to my hunting buddies. With out this select group of people, I would not be the man that I am today. I would just like to extend my thanks and love to them. Thank you all for being there for good ole Diesel
