Nauru Burns after reveille call by six battleships each firing all their 16 inch guns and all bearing 5 inch guns. Alternating passes port or starboard side 5 inch guns would bear on target. Nauru lies west of 180th meridian, dating the raid 8 December 1943 at Nauru, and 7 December east of the meridian. Crew preferred the 7 December date.
