Frances Ann Shively Jones Patterson

      Frances Ann Shively Jones Patterson was a very devoted, loyal, and faithful wife to Aaron Floyd (Flood) Jones who died during the Civil War at Petersburg, Virginia.  They had two children, Frances Rosebell and WIlliam Garland.  Aaron had been dead for twelve years when Frances had two more daughters, Emma and Eliza, who went by the name of Jones.  She later married David Patterson and hopefully had a few happy years with him. 

      Frances had a very hard time after Aaron was killed and without the help of her father I doubt she would have been able to keep her children together, but she did manage and her daughter and grandchildren loved her dearly.

      Frances is the oldest person in our line that we have been able to find a picture of.  If one looks at her face you can see the kindness that was there even with her hard life.  Pauline Pruett
