Word Specialist / Technical Writer
Work on site as a contractor for the Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS). Responsible for creating, modifying and maintaining all the Macros and Templates (using Word Basic source code for Word 95, and Visual Basic for Applications for Word 97), and Help Files (using RoboHelp software) for the Word95 Reports of Examination (ROEs). These reports get installed in a nationwide server, and they get downloaded from the server by examiners from all the organization's regions. Provide user technical support, and assist examiners with new ideas for the reports, troubleshooting, etc., in a weekly basis. Write technical and revision documentation for user instructions, monthly reports, code changes and new macros. Develop daily classes, manuals and training material for OTS users and Helpline personnel. Prepare and give weekly PowerPoint presentations and training sessions about the implementation of the ROE Application, use and creation of templates and macros. Create and maintain Help Files, written with Robohelp. Incorporate these Help Files as an extra feature to the ROEs, for the examiners to solve problems related specifically with the ROE application. Keep track of all the documents, templates and their updates, documentation, version numbers and dates on all servers (Test, Development and Production.) for all the Reports of Examination like: Safety and Soundness, Compliance, Holding Company, Information Systems, etc.
