Vision #49 - Tragedy of the Sheltered
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto
You've been living under your parents
And their shelter for too long.
You don't understand much
And every you don't understand
You think of as wrong.
Now that you're 18 they've finally cut you free.
You're only 18 and you think your older than me.
I said you think,
I don't say you were mature.
In fact,
You're far from mature.
All can see that you're scared to be so free.
You barely even know how to have fun.
You think too much when you don't have to.
Stop telling me that the TV's a bad influence.
That your parents view,
Not yours.
Grow up,
Get away,
Live a little.
You parents aren't here anymore,
So at least go 5 miles over the speed limit.
Stop punishing yourself,
For things you shouldn't be punishing yourself for.
Stop building a prison for yourself
Now that you're finally free.
