The Screen Saver Controversy
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

He stared at his monitor after his work was done.
The virtual version of his former love that graced his wallpaper would never leave his side.
Too bad he had let the real deal slip through his fingers.
Now nothing remained but pictures and memories.
Suddenly his screen saver popped up.
Now those pictures were randomly displaying themselves across the screen.
Each pic showed a happier smiling version of him and her holding hands or hugging.
It had been some time since the split up but the pain was still ever so present.
He shook his mouse and opened the source folder for the screen saver.
One by one he higlighted every picture and then pressed delete.
"Are you sure you want to send these 48 items to the Recycle Bin?", the warning asked.
Enough time passed so that the screen saver kicked in again.
He shook it off, focused - but still ended up clicking "No".

It was still far too early after all.
