Tell Me Why
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

          Tell me why,
How many years has it been
And we still poppin' off into wars?
Is it cheaper to blow these people up then it is to feed them?
Is that why we post nuclear war on these countries?
          Tell me why,
We strugglin' to feed other countries,
And we can't even deal with our homeless people.
          Tell me why,
Things supposed to be gettin' better,
But it seems like they only be gettin' worse.
          Tell me why,
          We still judging by color.
          I thought that the black,
          The white,
          The brown,
          And the yellow,
Was all supposed to be treated the same.
          Yo,
          Tell me why,
I'm here complainin' on shit of the global scale,
When I still got problems at the home.
Aight, you want me to talk 'bou home?
          Here it goes.
          Tell me why,
          My boy over there,
Has to pay child support for your kid,
When you know damn well he ain't your baby's daddy.
          Tell me why,
          G's over there with shorty,
And her ex is starting some shit.
          Why can't that fool deal?
He already knows he ain't good enough
          Shit...pop a restraining order,
So we can just laugh about it.
          Tell me why,
          No matter what I do,
I'm still not good enough for you or your family.
          Tell me why,
          Girlie over there dumped homeboy,
'Cause she said he ain't makin enough,
What does it matter how much skrill he make?
          Kid loves you,
It's not like you're all married or nothing.
He don't need to support you.
He made enough bank to take you to dinner and the movies,
          And you still complaining.
          Ho.
          Tell me why,
Ain't nobody got anything better to do,
But talk shit about everyone else.
          Tell me why,
          You're all acting like kids,
But you claim to be mature.
          Tell me why,
You're all claiming to be an adult,
But you're still a follower to all of your parent's plans.
          Tell me why,
You know that the path is wrong,
          And you're still following it.
          Choose your own path.
Tell me why the world is downing on us,
          'Cause of who we are.
          Tell me why,
I'm starting to agree with them.
          Tell me why,
          I'm asking all these questions,
And I'm still not getting any answers.
