Remembering To Forget
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

     I close my eyes,
     Clench my fist,
     And Breathe.
There is no point in getting angry.
     There is just no control.
Now there is nothing but silence.
     Still there is no point.
     No point in hope,
     No purpose remembering,
     But I can't forget.
     Even if I did,
It would only take a second to recall it all.
     Every single detail,
     All the laughs,
     And every single tear.
     To try and forget something,
You know you can never forget is foolish.
     So,
     I remember.
I wear that ring around my neck.
It used to symbloize "A promise of forever."
Now that you gave it back,
     It only says "Good-bye forever."
And "You want nothing to do with me."

Maybe I should remember to forget,
But we both will never forget that it happened.
