Left Hanging
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

     You left me hanging,
Treated me like I just up and disappeared,
     You couldn't see me
Or what you did to me
From a distance or up close
None of it mattered to you anymore,
     Just like I didn't.
     When I saw you,
     I pretended that I didn't
     I'm regretting that decision
     Over and over again.
I wish that I would have just sucked up my pride,
     Faced my fears,
Walked over to you and started that conversation.
I've been playing it over and over in my mind.
If I had only been brave,
Maybe I could have finally been at peace.
I could have left you hanging this time around.
