For the Longest Time
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

     For the longest time
I've been trying to figure it out.
Still there isn't a real answer.
What was it that made me so crazy for you?
     I really wish I knew.
Now I'm still in the dark,
     Questioning something
     I thought,
     Was important to us both.
     For the longest time
I still cared after you stopped.
As I did this I thought myself to be the fool.
     Now I know,
     I truly was.
It's almost too hard to decribe the way I felt.
     There were too many emotions
     Rolled into one.
     For the longest time
I still remembered the times we spent together,
All the laughter, joy and fun.
Now that I know things were not real,
I can try to cope the best I can.
Who knows what will come of this though,
I lie here a broken man.
