Damn The Day
By: Kenneth R. Cabrieto

The darkness gets to me now.
     Damn the day,
I let myself get stuck here.
Four walls lock me in this box.
     Things I can't explain.
One shed of light gets in through these walls,
It allows me to see a mirror,
The only other thing in this box, asides from me.
So I stare at my reflection,
But I still can't see clearly.
So I brush away my bangs,
     There it is.
     My way out.
     The walls crumble down,
     And I'm free.
Damn the day I am conquered!
     Damn the day I fall!

     When that day comes,
I just want you to know,
     Someone else just like me,
Will come and put you in your place.

     Then you'll find yourself,
     Back in your box.
