By Myself
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto
I used to sit by myself,
And think to myself,
And told no one how I felt...
Including her.
One day came,
Where it became too much,
The pain too much...
So I told her.
If I only knew,
The resulting pain,
Would be much worse,
I would have choosen a different course
And stayed to myself.
Instead of fewer doubts,
There are now more,
Much more than before.
Before I told her,
I expected yes or no,
But she doesn't know,
So I don't know what to do.
For now, we're still friends,
For now, we're still just friends,
Until the end,
When she can decide,
Whether to, or not to be mine.
Until that day,
I'll stick to myself.
