A Failed Attempt at Forgetting
By Kenneth R. Cabrieto

You can try to forget me
     All that you want.
     You can try,
     But you won't succeed.
In the middle of the night
It's my name you'll call out,
'Cause I'm still the one that you need.
     When expectations are high
     And you feel all alone,
     In your mind
     You still see my face.
     Your body's craving for more
Of what only I can give,
     So come back
     And get another taste.
     Don't try to run
     And don't bother to hide.
     Not even your friends
     Can set you right.
     So suck up your pride
     And wipe those tears.
     I'll see you later tonight.

You all know that not even I am this thick-headed. A friend of mine (I bet a lot of you can guess who) asked me to write this for him. He left it on his girl's voice mail...and miraculously she came back to him. What is this world coming to?
