Laura
First Name:Laura
Age:18
School:Lord Botetourt
Current Grade Level:12...c/o 2002!!
Length of time in the culture:Not really sure, i guess i've really immersed myself into the subculture more in the past year and a half. I guess I've always been goth, i just didn't really FIND that part of myself for so long.
What attracts you to this social group?:Definately the first thing would be their tolerance of differences. They're all like "hey, you're different, that's cool". They like individuality and were very accepting of me.
Taste in music (favorite bands):Gothic music. I love Bauhaus, Switchblade Symphony, Skinny Puppy, Sisters of Mercy, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Theager of Tragedy, My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, just to name a few. And for the past month i've started listening to The Cure...
Hobbies and Interests:Making and listening to music, acting, writing poetry and songs, and parties, meeting new people
Personality Traits:I'm a very outgoing person (not in a perky way), and i like to meet new people. i'm incessantly morbid, and i despise perkiness. life's not fair, get over it. i'm not a judgemental person, but i'm not very trusting either. if you want me to trust you, you have to earn it first.
Personal Appearance...what characterizes your style and stands out about your appearance? How do you usually dress?:Mostly my long naturally blond hair, i don't as yet have any piercings or anything. I like my hair because most goths have black or some other color hair, so the blond is different. i almost always wear black, and occasionally blood red. i love the renissance/medieval goth look, but i can't sew and its hard to find that sort of stuff around here. i usually don't wear shoes (when its warm) if i can get away with it, but if i do have to, then i wear my shit-kicker boots. some people are beginning to think that i live in my boots...
Personal Goals/Future Plans:Right now, to get thru high school alive and maybe go to college
Religious Affiliation (if any):Christian
Do you consider yourself gothic?:i would say that i have gothic tendancies. but i don't think that being goth is based on just those obvious things. i think that its part of you, part of your soul. you don't just wake up one morning and say "gee, i think i'll be gothic now." its not a club, there's no membership card. i was always looking for a place to fit in and people who were like me, yet different from me, and when i found the subculture, i fit right in. i'm myself, but it seems that the place i've found in society is with the people they've labled as gothic, so...
Describe an time when you were harassed for being gothic and explain how you reacted:The day after columbine...need i say more? an easier question though would be when have i NOT been harassed for being gothic?
