Conclusion
Seed in used as a metaphor in the Bible many times. It rarely means what we usually think of, when we hear the word seed, which is the reproductive part of plants. Occasionally it is meant in the form of people reproducing themselves by "sowing their seed". However, most often in the Bible, seed is used to mean the beginning of spiritual growth in the Christian faith. Jesus often spoke in parables (metaphors), and this is what he usually meant.
