~Kevin’s point of view~
I’d been sitting in the kitchen of the boat for a good hour. Tracy had refused to come down.
I went over to the cabinets and looked through them for something to eat.
I found a few candy bars and grabbed one.
It was freezing and the waves seemed to be picking up. The boat continued to sway back and forth. And I was getting a little seasick.
“Man, this is why I wanted to be a pilot. Not a sailor,” I muttered to myself.
I was surprised to hear Tracy coming down the stairs. “Don’t think for a second I’m here to see you,” she said quickly. “It’s just too cold to be up there in the wind.”
I nodded, taking a seat. She sat across from me, arms crossed. Shivering.
I sighed, taking my jacket off. “Do you want this?” I offered it to her.
Tracy looked at it like it was poison. But the cold got the best of her. She took it slowly. “Thanks,” she muttered, as though involuntarily.
We sat in silence for a few minutes. And now I was the one who was freezing. But at least she was warm. I wondered how long we’d be on this boat. We were at least sitting in the same room without her threatening my life. That was progress.
I decided to try and talk to her. “How has your year gone?”
“Great. There’s lots of hot guys at college,” she said smugly.
“Yet your still single,” I shot back.
“And how would you know that?”
I didn’t want to admit that I’d asked Brian to ask Erin how she was. “Well, do you have a boyfriend?”
“No,” she said. “But I could if I’d wanted one. Your not the only guy in the world. And your definitely not the best find.”
“How long are you going to keep trashing me?” I was getting annoyed.
“Until someone throws you into a dumpster,” Tracy narrowed her eyes. “That’s where unfaithful freaks like you belongs.”
“You know what? I don’t have to take this. I apologized as many times as I can. Cheating on you was my fault. But not even listening to me or trying to forgive me is your fault. You were the one who broke up with me, remember? I didn’t have to come here to try and see you. In case you didn’t know, I have a million fans around the globe who’d treat me much nicer than you do. And I have the money to be spending the holidays someplace much better than on a crumby boat with you,” I stormed away.

“So how have you guys been?” I asked AJ and Amy, sitting on the couch with Brian beside me.
“Great. We’re actually going to spend Christmas in Paris, but we wanted to come see all of you first,” Amy said. “We’re leaving tomorrow. I can’t wait to see France all lit up!”
“Yeah,” AJ continued. “The flight’s were really hard to schedule around the holidays, but I mean, who could miss pulling this on D and Kevin. Makes the holidays all the merrier.”
“Reuniting two couples, you mean?” I asked.
“No getting to lock Kevin on a boat in the freezing cold. This is for him always getting on me about partying to late,” AJ laughed. “And D? It’s just too easy to pull stuff on him. Nick used to all the time.”
So AJ and Amy were leaving tomorrow. Brian early the morning after that. I didn’t yet know what the others were doing. I’d ask Nick and Heather when they got back from the grocery store. And the other four, when they got out.
AJ checked his watch. “Think its time to check on Howie?”
Brian nodded. “Its been two hours.”
AJ led the way, and the rest of us followed him up the stairs.
“How’s it going?” AJ knocked on the door. “Have you come to your senses yet?”
There wasn’t any answer.
“D?” AJ knocked again. We exchanged worried glances. He unlocked the door.
We laughed. They were sitting beside each other, Howie’s arms wrapped around Jennifer giving her a sweet kiss. He looked up and noticed us.
“Excuse me…” he ran past us and headed towards the bathroom.
