In 2000 the retirees were Vida Hettenbach-Science(HS), Georgiana Crowley- Home Eco (HS),
Kathleen Gollhoffer-Business(HS), Chris Strandfeldt- English-(Frost), Lynn Simmons- English(Frost) Jack Meehan(guidance in the HS but taught Science in Frost), George Lauscher- Foreign Languages (HS).
In 2001 a tremendous number are going -HS (English):
Polly Lowery- Feb 1, 2001, Mary Mille, Jack Keating, Peter Smiles, Mary Pat Silverman, Kathleen Connor,
and Jim Hawkins. John McDonald- reading, Bernie Case- Science- HS, Mike Jackson -Special Ed, Karyn Fox- Business,
and Bob Rocco- Foreign Languages.
Denise Pratesi will retire in Oct 2001.

Elizabeth Hirsch- Social Studies, Tim Taraska- Shop, Andrea Kenneally, Lyde Newman, Maureen Ryan, Lyn Warner, Diana Wilson
In Kennedy almost the whole 5 th grade staff will also go.

Former 5th Grade May Moore Teacher is an author
Mrs. Ruth K. Landa, who was a teacher at May Moore in the late 60's early 70's is currently living in NC, and besides teaching, has been writing books. The first one was regarding computer software (which is now out of print), the second book 'Dad is a "Drinking Man"' has gotten rave reviews on Amazon.com. If you were a former student of Mrs. Landa, remember her, and are interested in

In 6/13/01 Newsday it was noted that a retired DP May Moore Elementary retired 1st grade teacher passed away. Our sympathies go to out to the Kaufman family. [6/01]
