Vanquished Hero's

Heroes Live
Heroes Die
Heroes call up to the sky
vanquished but heroes:
Feathers for heroes
Songs for heroes
Pain for heroes
Vanquished but heroes
Heroes with pride
Heroes with strength
Heroes with humility
Vanquished but heroes
I have fought one hundred wars
on one hundred bloodied shore and
yet you do not recognize me.
I have been in the sight of
great men and small, and yet
they do not recognize me.
I have been both victor
and vanquished and yet
I have not been recognized.
I have been a tommie, a yank, an
aussie, a hun, a ruskie, a nip,
a GI, a reb, and others and
yet you still know me not.
I was your son, your husband,
your brother, your father, your
friend, your uncle, your cousin,
your grandfather, WAIT!!! yes,
yes, now you see: You say then
Why are there still wars??
Death is the final price we pay for
peace. Man can give no more.
