Welcome to my research effort. This page was created out of an internship in Virginia Commonwealth University (Art History Department) with Meadow Farm Museum. The topic is "Black women in slavery" : Virginia. I tried to keep as much to Virginia as I could with the resources, although it was difficult as there is not much on the web in this general topic. There seems to be a wealth of information on Women and Slavery in the Carribean, so I have included a few resources on this as well for background information. I have found that often Brazil is compared to Virginia as far as slavery, so I am hoping that these sources would transcend to be applied to Virginia as well. Following is an outline of the project, and a list of resources that I found to be helpful. Also, there is a list of links that I found informative. This page will hopefully see its completion by the end of December.
