Blacksburg Goalkeeping School is celebrating 27 years of teaching soccer. We have a long and proud history of helping goalkeepers of all ages improve and reach their potential. The next camp will be in February 12th, 2023. This years camp promises to be the best camp we have ever had. Our goal is to help goalkeepers of all ages become better overall players. From the beginning player to the advanced, highly trained player, each student will be tested and refined to advance to his/her next level. From technique to tactics to psychological makeup, the students have the opportunity to learn from the best directors and staff. This camp is designed to test and push goalkeepers to their limits. Camp Director: Travis Bishop - goalkeeping and assistant coach for Blacksburg High School girls soccer team. 2012 NSCAA East Region Assistant Coach of the Year. Assistant Coach of the 1998, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2010, and 2013 State Championship boysteams at Blacksburg. The 2013 Blacksburg HS team allowed 6 goals in 22 games and was ranked #3 in the year end Spring NSCAA national poll. 2009 Virginia High School Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year. Former goalkeeping coach at Roanoke College. ODAC champions in 2001, 2002, 2004. Travis has coached many goalkeepers who have gone on to the college level. Each player is placed in an environment that will challenge and elevate his/her level of play. No matter what level, goalkeepers completing out program will find it challenging and ultimately, very rewarding. All campers get an official Blacksburg Goalkeeping School t-shirt. Coaches are encouraged to send more than one keeper there is no substitute for a fundamental sound back-up.
