Hobbie/Interests: Hand to Hand Combat, Tactical games, Studying new and past tactical maneuvers and
intelligence techniques of all species. Quite interested in Chinese Heritage.

Education: Attended Windmire school as a computer major. Decided to switch to study about tactical and
command at Starfleet Academy. Went on Federation - Klingon student exchange program part way through the
academy. Graduated above average in his class (because of his hatred of non-tactical tests). Earned
a Conditional Pass on the Kobyashi Maru test. Found way to defeat Borg drones at hand to hand combat.

Background: Young's Mother was a tailor; his father a cook. Since Young was a single child, and
his parents had little education, he had to rely on himself to get things done. This meant having to work
incredibly hard to get into Starfleet Academy compared to others. As a child, Young was smaller than the other kids and was always bullied. Even then he never backed down, and was always willing to fight. As he grew older, he began to study Kung-fu, which taught him discipline, and skill added to his strong will and determination.

Later during his years in the Academy, he joined in the Federation-Klingon student exchange program as
suggested by Boothby. From this program he learned the Klingon's way of life including honour, fighting
skills (mok'bara) and their skill in bladed weapons(mek'leth). When he returned to the Academy, this gave Young the idea of studying tactics of all species to improve his tactical skills. During the Kobyashi Maru test Young created false communications on a open unecrypted channel that other newly built cloak available Federation ships were standing by. He utilized a number of probes to emit these communications. Young proceeded to negotiate with the Romulans on the release of hostages for their safe passage back to the empire. The computer granted Young a fail. Young appealed to the Academy committee, in which they found that Young earned a Conditional Pass based on the grounds that the Romulans may or may not have fell for Young's plan based upon the Romulan's level of intelligence and tactical skill.
