USS LAFAYETTE SCIENCE DATABASE

These files and links are provided to assist the crew of the LaFayette with obtaining information which they may find useful in their on-going mission.

USS LaFayette Regulations

1.   The USS LaFayette is a PG-13 rated game. No posts that violate this rating will be tolerated.

2.   Junior officers (Lieutenants and below) and junior enlisted crew are required to post a minimum of once every two weeks. Senior officers and NCOs are required to post a minimum of once per week -- a mailing list has been provided for this purpose and should be used for all general game posts. The mailing list address is currently: USS_LaFayette@onelist.com. Private posts to the Commodore or other crew members are allowed and encouraged for all out of context messages. There is no maximum posting limit, although the Game Master (Commodore McAllister) may request a hold on posting to the game boards to allow for catching up or mission changes. Working with another character to create a post is allowed.

3.   Crew members are encouraged to advance the plot of the current mission; however, the following guidelines must be followed:

4.   No player character can be eliminated or severally maimed in a post by another crewmember. Secondary characters can be eliminated, but have a tendancy to keep coming back, either as a hologram, a ghost, or some other means :-)

5.   No player character should be shown to be acting against their established personality unless by agreement of all involved in that post. Crew biographies will be posted by the Admiral should the individual crew member grant permission to do so. Posting your bio is not required, but it is encouraged to avoid having your character's persona changed against your will -- in other words, if your bio isn't posted, don't complain if your character suddenly develops a lust for chocolate.

6.   Please keep the post mission oriented. Only the Admiral may begin or end a mission.

7.   No "super-hero" syndrome posts will be allowed. While characters may and often do have special abilities, all character action should be realistic to the concepts of Star Trek. The Admiral's approval is required for any character or NPC to be introduced who has "Q" abilities.

8.   Mission suggestions are always welcome -- please send them to the Admiral privately.

9.   The LaFayette has a 3-strike system. If you have been warned, as a player, in a private message from the Commodore, that your game play is in violation of Bravofleet, DarkStar, or ship's guidelines, this is a strike. Receive three strikes, and you will be removed from the game's mailing list. Warnings received by a character in game context are just elements of the story and should be treated as such. Questions regarding this should be sent to the Admiral.

10.   The LaFayette is open to all with a desire to play. While we'd love to have you join us, we realize that some folks do not have the time to participate, but would rather just watch our stories unfold. This is permissible -- if you would like to "lurk" a mission or two, just let the Admiral know and he will make the necessary arrangements.
