Thank all of you who have supported us over the past few years coming out to see us play and by purchasing our CD. For those of you who don't know us......Barry Scott, formerly of The States, formed the band about 9 years ago. Finding the right mix of musicians to complete the sound that is the Barrys took a little time but finally with Andi Helfant who Scott had previously worked with in a band called Neo Duo and Peter Pope a well know area musician and producer, Scott had the mix of female and male harmonies he desired to round a sound that is consistently being compared to Wings, the Mamas and the Papas and the Buffalo Springfield. All of the members influences seem to come together to make the original material sound unique but reminiscent of the 60's. Peter is a Jelly Fish and Beach Boys Fan, Andi is a Joni Mitchell and Carole King fan and Scott himself, a Stephen Stills and Neil Young fan. The whole band has similar influences such as the Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, the Hollies and of course the Beatles. The band won Musicians Magazines Best Unsigned Band Contest several years ago so....there you have it - The Barrys. OH !!!! and live is William Frye on Bass (a huge Who fan) - who is one of the areas premier bass players and has been in a number of popular bands. We were pleased that among other musicians that have joined us on stage, Lee Spicer a premier area percussionist has played with us whenever he was available.
