Things repeat themselves in a cycle that repeats itself, day after day. Regardless of where someone is or what things appear to be, it's always the same as it always was. When one seeks goals, such as perfection, what they think is improvement will be nothing more than a repeat of the actions they made in the past.
This cycle will continue, long after we are gone. "Changes" restart the cycle in which the old is considered the new. Peace of mind will only lead to troubles in the future. The good and the bad are only steps in the changeless cycle. A bright future will only result in a dull past. Comradeship will result in enmity; learning truths will result in believing more lies. Peace will only result in war. Life only results in death; courage, in fear.
The cycle is but a paradox of the things that have been that will be. Thus a "change" in a person by thought, word, or deed will only result in the same manner as if the "change" was never enacted.
This is the cycle you never learn of in school.
