March, 2004: And Then It Was Gone

So, Ridge is no more. I was driving by and just happened to notice it had been torn down. It's weird, really. I was sitting at the stop light before the theater and from that spot, there is a hotel that blocks the view of Ridge except for its roof. But sitting there I couldn't even see the roof. I thought maybe I was just at a bad angle, Ridge was surely there. But it wasn't. Instead there were a few piles of debris and some construction equipment. Strangely, the marquee is still there, a relic. I bought a camera and took a few pictures (maybe I'll post them here with some pictures of the place as it was before). The site looks a lot smaller now. Hard to imagine I used to work there. I wonder when they actually did it and if they blew it up, or tore it down piece by piece. Who knows. That was Ridge.
