Tsukiyono Omi

When Omi was 5 years old (or one, technically, because he was born on a leap year...) he was kidnapped from his household by someone unknown and ransomed. Well, his father never paid the randsom, and what happened to Omi during the "kidnapped" part of his life becomes a mystery to him. He was traumatized and has no memory of that time.

Omi may or may not realize that, for one, his real name is NOT Tsukiyono Omi, or who his real family is. In fact, I'm not even sure who raised him. All I know is that Omi's past is mostly forgotten and he has no clue where he comes from, originally.

Omi joined up with Weiss at the age of 17. He also started working with the others at the flower shop, AND attending school. He was a busy lad.

Bombay

Omi goes to school during the day, works with Hidaka Ken, Kudo Youji, and Fujimiya Aya at Koneko no Sumu le during the afternoon, and "never forgives the bad ones" at night.

The youngest member of Weiss, Omi is still good at what he does. He's usually in charge of computers and other technical work.

Omi Info:

Did you notice the "real name" thing? Yep...well...part of Omi's present position is that, as it so happens, he is a Takatori. Now, if you recall, Takatori Reiji is the altogether scary and relatively evil crime lord of Japan. He's the guy Aya wants to gut with his katana.

Omi, as it turns out, is Reiji's nephew! Which makes Persia, a.k.a. Shuuichi Takatori, Omi's DADDY! See, Persia had an affair with Reiji's wife back in the day, and that resulted in Omi. So when Omi was kidnapped by the bad men, Reiji wouldn't pay the ransom cuz he was all like, "screw that! He's my nephew!" Reiji's little brother, Shuuichi, is the Police Commissioner and leader of Weiss. Omi finds all this out and then finds out that the girl he had the hots for (and who had the hots for him), Ouka, is also his cousin! Her daddy is Reiji Takatori.

Well, before Ouka knew the truth, she wanted Omi to meet her daddy. This led them to a party, which Omi was subsequestly kidnapped from by Schuldich before getting to see Reiji Takatori. Shuldich then took Omi away, beat the living bejesus out of him with a golf club, and Omi was like, "I'm not a Takatori! I'm Tsukiyono Omi!" Brings a tear to your eye, huh?

Then Omi had to kill off all his family and have little Ouka die in his arms, via a gunshot wound from Farfie. Leaving the once genki Weiss member thoroughly distraught.

Now, don't get me wrong. Things are not ALWAYS bad for Omi! In fact, through most of the series, he's the happiest little guy in that flower shop!

O genki desu ka?

Omi was happy to be around the flower shop, seemed content in school (although he was late a lot. Not that I blame him..., and was even happy to be an assassin! He'd throw a dart or shoot an arrow and give a little "V" sign when it hit its target! ("YAY! I killed someone!")...but with all that happened in his life...who could blame him for getting down in the dumps?

In the Weiss OAV "Verbrechen ~ Strafe", Omi is the only member of Weiss that actually considers the other guys his frinds, and truly believes in them. He can't believe it when Youji and Aya actually fight him and Ken. Omi screams out, "friends shouldn't have to fight! This shouldn't be our punishment!" Then he cried. He cried and he cried. And so did I.

In the Weiss Drama Album "Dramatic Precious", Omi's life takes an interesting turn when he finds out Granddaddy Takatori (i.e. Saijou Takatori) is still alive and living in...dun dun dun...Tsukiyono Castle! The name Omi Tsukiyono, that was given to him by Persia, isn't completely random! It's based off the mansion, called Tsukiyono Castle, that he used to visit with his mother when he was a child. Saijou fools Omi into thinking he's just a stupid old man, and asks Omi to live with him until he dies. He thinks that spending time with him will convince Omi to take on the Takatori family responsibilities. I guess we'll find out when the new series, Gluhen, starts. Omi is looking much more like a Takatori for my liking. Who's down in the dumps?
