Doggie Day Care

My year old Rottie, Princess, goes to daycare, usually 4 days a week. At her age, it's important to keep her tired out so she doesn't dismantle the house from boredom. A bored Rottie is not a pretty thing. After a day in class, she comes home, eats dinner and then passes out. She moves only if I do. And at bed time, she's down for the count. Usually doesn't move till she has to the next morning. This keeps her from aggravating my 2 older male Rotties and cat.

During her busy day, she also has obedience lessons. Two of the pictures below show her actually being obedient. One is a SIT, STAY and the other is a DOWN, STAY. She does not do this for me. She only does VELCRO DOG for me. We are eternally going to be in a Novice Obedience class because she won't stay where I leave her.

Mainly, these pictures show the good that can come from daycare. The dogs not only get rid of the extra energy, but they get socialization and obedience training. Where else would you see the "MEAN" dogs laying next to each other? A German Shepherd, a Pit, 2 Rotties and a Dobie.

The 3rd picture shows her checking out one of the trainer's cats. The white cat is deaf and mostly ignores all the dogs. Just before this picture was taken, both Princess and the cat were having a drink. At home, Princess likes to hold my cat's tail in her mouth. Sometimes this leads to friction since the cat will turn around and bop her. So far, no damage done even though the family cat still has his claws plus a healthy set of teeth. In fact, last night, my cat (Roof) tried to bite my big Rottie's head. I don't think the 127lb Rottie even noticed, though.

They're Pushing This Obedience Stuff A Little Far Today.

Is This A Poodle Or Something?
