It was a placid, cool night as all the jellicles gathered together for a night’s sleep in the junkyard under the jellicle moon. Munkustrap emerged from the pipe and grinned when he saw Jemima, Ectetera and Electra cuddled next to Rum Tum Tugger with satisfying smiles on their faces. Munkustrap then noticed Demeter and joined her. She welcomed him with a nuzzle as they then both fell asleep. The air was silent and still when Mistoffelees jerked himself awake, ears erect and eyes alert. Soon after that, the mystical twins, Tantomile and Coricopat, jumped up and sensed the disturbance in the area as well. Mistoffelees sniffed the air and hissed. A soda can was heard as it fell to the ground, causing all the jellicles, simultaneously, to wake from their deep sleep.

"What is it?" Skimbleshanks asked Mistoffelees, but Demeter answered for him as she hissed, "Macavity!" Immediately, at the sound of that wretched name, the cats were quickly on their feet, alert and ready. But before they could scatter away, Macavity's henchmen cats began to appear from every corner, surrounding the jellicles. There were too many to count and were obviously out numbered. Munkustrap hissed when he spotted The Napoleon of Crime himself leaning against the trunk of the old, rusted car.

"What do you want?" Munkustrap asked in a deep growl. Macavity extracted his claws and admired them as he thought out loud to himself, "What do I want? Hmmm . . . well, what I would love to have is that jellicle leader of yours."

"Well you can't have him!" Alonzo yelled. Macavity frowned, "Oh by the way, talking about Old Deut. I want to know who took him from me last time I had him." All the cats were silent.

"It was you, wasn't it?" Macavity asked as he pointed a crooked finger at Mistoffelees. Mistoffelees shrugged, "Yeah, so what if it was? We weren't going to let you keep him."

Macavity began to slowly approach the black cat but was blocked by Munkustrap. "Stay away from him." Munkustrap ordered as he stood in front of Mistoffelees.

Macavity smirked, "I'm not going to hurt him." he then looked over Munkustrap's shoulder as he said to Mistoffelees, "In fact I thought the trick was very clever. Even I wasn't expecting it. That's why I got myself my very own magician." The jellicles were shocked. Macavity having a magician was not a promising thing. Knowing he had everyone's attention Macavity announced, "I'd like you to meet the magician's magician, Siflay."

Suddenly, dust like sparkles began to swirl in the air like a small cyclone, spinning faster and faster then forming a figure. The particles then exploded in a sudden outburst revealing a slender, black cat. He resembled Mistoffelees greatly though he didn't have a white chest or a white tipped tail. He was purely black except for his white face. He had different color eyes. His left eye was green and his right was violet. It was amazing how he and Mistoffelees were the exact same size. Once seeing this cat, Mistoffelees' eyes widened and his jaw dropped. "Siflay?" he whispered. Siflay gave him a quizzical look. Mistoffelees slowly stepped closer to the black cat before him and asked, "Siflay, don't you remember me?" Siflay looked more confused then ever. So did Macavity as he watched. Realizing Siflay didn't remember him, Mistoffelees said with a slight quivering his voice, "It's me Mistoffelees." Just then, Siflay's puzzled look disappeared and was overcomed by a look of surprise and shock and whispered, "Mistoffelees!"

Macavity had to intervene, "Wait a minute here!" turning to Siflay he asked, "You know this fur ball?" "Well . . . yeah . . . he's my brother." Siflay stuttered. Gasps were heard throughout the junkyard.

Macavity was speechless for a while then threw up his arms, "I should have known. I guess all magical cats are related." Siflay shook his head, "Well not exactly-" but was cut off by Macavity as he brought him aside so the other jellicles wouldn't hear, "Now you listen here, I don't care how he's related to you, I want him gone! With this magical freak out of the way, we'll have a better chance at capturing the old fat cat successfully then who knows what we'll be able to do from there once we have the tribe. Plus there's something in it for you," and he drew Siflay closer and whispered in his ear, "I'll give you back your freedom."

Years ago Siflay was attacked by a couple of dogs when Macavity saved him. In return, Macavity told him he had to stay with him forever. Siflay, not knowing Macavity's evil ways, agreed, but now hearing how his freedom would be given back to him, Siflay got his powers pulsing through his body in preparation. Seeing that Siflay was ready, Macavity stepped aside and allowed him to proceed. Munkustrap bravely stood his ground in front of Mistoffelees but was no match for the magician as he was zapped by his electrical charge, sending Munkustrap sprawling across the floor. Siflay then continued his way to his younger brother. Mistoffelees stepped back as he said, "Please Siflay, don't do this."
