Going to the Beach
Cabbit has, once again, wandered off, so you have to find where to go yourself. Since she had told you which trail she was going to go down, you took it, also. You look around, amazed, at the thick forest around you. You smell pine and wildflowers, and you leisurely stroll down the path. You weren't watching where you were going, so when the forest ended in a small incline, you trip and fall face first into the sand. Cabbit, who had been standing beside two trees on the beach, noticed you and came over. When she saw the look on your face, and that you were lying on the ground in sand, she immediately knew what had happened and struggled not to laugh. "So, I guess you want to see the minis on this beach over here? Princess and Monica are right over there, writing another one of their stories. Unlike Saliman, my other scholar, who is a reader, they write. They can write some of the best stories I've ever read!" she tells you, and then smiles. Then you turn your head and see the blue and yellow minis she was talking about.
:I'm hungry, Monica.: $Ya, so'm I. I'll go get some food. You finish your bit while I'm gone.$ :Yeah, ok.: One of the minis flies off towards the ocean right before... ~Cabbit, they didn't watch their step. One of the rules here is to watch your step. Not to mention that they got too close to the nest without escort.~ You hear the voice resonating through your head. Cabbit looks over to see your reaction, which is bewilderment, and she can no longer contain herself. She manages to spit out while she's laughing. "I see" laughing "that Sasha" laughing again "has found out" more laughter "about you. However, Sasha, they're a visitor, so they get a break." ~I know, that's why I didn't say everything they had done.~ Cabbit's face turned blank. "Oh." You look around you quizically, wondering who or what Sasha is. "Sasha is my female peacekeeper mini. She is the one that makes sure everyone and everything is in order and law-abiding here," Cabbit tells you when she finally gets herself under control. Then she points at a blueish mini who is standing alertly on a rock.
"I think you should meet Sasha's best friend, Misty, next. Even though Misty IS a fisher, she actually can recite a couple of the rules now that Sasha's gotten her talons into her. Well, do you see that mini over there? Standing on the rock beside Sasha?"
You nod in confirmation that yes, you had seen the mini. Then she flies off of her perch and starts to scold you! -You didn't follow the rules! You didn't follow the rules!- came the new mini's voice. "Help!" you shriek, and then you hear Sasha again. ~Misty! You know one of the rules is no scolding visitors! That is, unless Cabbit says you can or they get your name wrong, but that's it!~ Cabbit snickers under her breath, and you wonder how she could be laughing. You could've lost an eye! "Don't worry. Misty would have never attacked you. Then again, none of my minis would have, unless you meant harm, but that's different. Oh, would you like to meet my other minis?" "Umm... yes," you say, even though you aren't sure you want to risk it. "Stop worrying! They're all really sweet!" Cabbit reassures you. "Ok, time to meet Carinith!" and a tan mini immediately appears.
"This is my tan female, Carinith. She's really helpful. She's also my eldest mini," Cabbit tells you. Then Carinith looks up from the clay she had picked up and squaks indignantly. "Well you are! But she's not that old," Cabbit amends. Then Carinith's eyes suddenly go out of focus, and Cabbit smiles. "She's probably thinking of her mate, Graymur. She just kind of dozes off sometimes." Suddenly you have the feeling that something is watching you. Looking left and right, you find nothing. Then you hear Cabbit laughing. "With minis, you have to look up," she explains, pointing upward. Following her instructions, you see a green mini watching you.
"Now that you two have met, I'll tell you who he is. He's my male fisher, Seastreak. Did I tell you that he now has a mate? Her name is Yume." At the mention of the minidragon, Seastreak starts to go off to la-la land. ~Yes, beautiful Yume, wonderous Yume.~ "There's no point in talking to him now. He can go on like this for hours. He's even worse then Carinith!" Cabbit rolls her eyes. "Now I want you to meet my two minis who seem to be attached at the hip. Meet Juno and Saliman."
You look over at a table to see Juno, the blue healer, looking at some herbs, and Saliman, the blue with yellow wings scholar, writing. They don't pay you any attention, and Cabbit sighs exasperatedly. "Don't mind them." "Wait, I thought you said Saliman didn't write! Then what's he doing?" Cabbit looks over at him, then smiles. "He's writing a poem for his mate, Tan Rhonda." "Oh," you say, and smile at the little mini. Cabbit sighs and rolls her eyes, then leads you to a place where a red mini is sitting beside a fire.
{Hello. I'm Dawnfire, a fire minidragon. Would you like tos it beside my fire? You see, I create fires. That's what I do.} You grin, but politely decline, and the minis nods. "Ya, that's our flamboyant fire," Cabbit tells you. Then Cabbit seems to remember something, "Do you want to try to adopt a mini dragon? They're really cute, and I think you'd be a great candidate!
