Straightening up in the tall chamber you've just entered, you look around. Surprised, you realise, I'm in the tree! Or actually, looking around more, you realise you're part in, part under. The room you'r standing in is certainly part of the inside of the tree, smoothed hued in rich, warm, swirling colors. A staircase winds around the inside of the huge tree-room, leading up towards a distant patch of light. A hole in the bark, perhaps? Down aronud the curved walls, the wall of tree becomes stretched, then branches out in to curving roots that support the lower half of the room and continue their journey under the cool, moss-covered floor. Sunlight from various holes in the distant roof lends a dappled gold and emerald effect to the mossy carpet. From somewhere far above, water trickles down in a steady flow to form a still, quiet pool nestled between two huge roots that bulge inwards. The walls and roots of the tree, are covered with ferns and bromeliads, and other epythetic plants, filling the air with there rich fragrances and splashing the earth-hued walls witha riotuos rainbow of color. Breathing deeply, you smell life, and rich, warm scents you've never experienced the like of before. The whole room is pleasant, and warm, well-lived in and loving. This tree is clearly alive, and together with the resident plants and singing frogs, and a few birds flitting through the air, (was that a dragon?!?! Nah...couldn't be...could it?) it makes the whole room feel alive and...welcoming. Moving closer to the pool, you even see tiny, brilliantly colored gem-like fish darting in its murky depths. As you try to take all this in, a voice suddenly starts you out of your thoughts--
"Hullo, hullo! Welcome to my Den. I've just started with it and I really don't have a clue what I'm doing, as I'm still learning the fine art of virtual house building, so bear with me. There are still a few small discrepancies resulting in the unfortunate fact that if you're using Netscape, well--My den ain't gonna look so hot. I'm sorry; I don't know why. But it's not too bad--just not quite as good as if your method of transportation is MIE. Despite this fact, I'm hoping that with some time, eventually this will grow to be a really great page. For now, however, I need to think of what I can do that will be original and unique, not done before; and as big as the Web is, that's gonna be hard. But below is a list of the rooms in my den I have done so far. They're all open to visitaion. One important tip for you to remember, though--nothing is as it seems here. Leave no rock unturned, for you may be missing priceless treasure. Or maybe you're avoiding something inherently horrible--but it's up to you to take the risk and discover the truth for yourselves."
With that he turns away and wanders off, leaving explore yourself. Right now there are six large doors, and a fifth still being dug out, with a few roots dangling down in front, and the sixth almost completely hidden from view by dangling, glowing mosses. Still, it looks open, and the whole atmosphere of the place is inviting.
