When starting out over five years ago...our main objective was to offer an on-site shredding service which is what we do best today. Equipment was thin on the ground, almost non existent in this country and second hand was like trying to find a living dinosaur! All the heavy duty gear seemed to be in America and so after hundreds of no win transatlantic phone calls I came across a great guy in Missouri that goes by the name of Floyd Riley. After a couple of calls he laid me a challenge...in his midwest accent he told me "If I wanted a shredder to come in the next few days and he would do me a deal that I could not refuse" He would even refund my plane fare if I did not buy!

A Fistfull of Dollars

Missouri in January is no picnic, now I knew why all the trucks here have snow ploughs! But Floyd soon made me feel at home. After some pretty cool haggling on my part I handed over a ton of bucks and became the proud owner or a tyre shredder.

Five years on and three machine later have seen a lot of change in our company and Transworld Equipment sales. They are stocking the largest range of new and used recycling equipment in the world. 2002 will see us purchase our fourth and largest shredder. If the last three are anything to go by I guess I will be heading over to Floyds again...I need a holiday anyway!!
