Sarah Amanda McClellan,
daughter of James and Cynthia McClellan,
born in Nauvoo, Hancock Co., Illinois.
Blessed By Isaac Morley.
Sarah A., in the name of the Lord, we lay our hands upon thy head and we bless
thee by nature of the Priesthood with the seal of thy father. Therefore, remember to
hearken to his counsel and strive to become obedient to the requests of thy Mother. In so
doing the intellectual faculties of thy mind will be increased and the spirit of the Lord
will become the monitor of thy mind. And thou wilt be blessed with a grateful heart and
the ties of nature will become increased through the acts of thy obedience.
The Lord will preserve thee from every incorrect influence. Thou wilt be
blessed in faith and in the promises of thy Creator. This promise will be
verified to thy mind in the various circumstances in life.
Strive to store thy mind with the principles of salvation, and thou wilt
rejoice in the covenant of promise in all the vicissitudes in life. Thou hast
a mind given thee by the God of nature and talents to be improved. And always
remember there in no beauty compared with an enlightened mind. The outward
appearance must decay but the graces and faculties of thy mind shall be increased
and grow brighter and brighter urtil the perfect day.
Thy birth and thy legitamacy is of the promised seed. In the morning of
the first resurrection thou shalt be brought forth and be crowned with the
glories of the celestial worlds. And we seal thee up to enjoy all these blessings
in the name of the Father, and the Son, and Holy Ghost, even so, amen.
