"FATHER AND SON WILL GO ON MISSIONS TO EUROPEAN COUNTRIES"

LOGAN, Utah, July 13—Special—President John H. Anderson of the First National Bank and manager of the business enterprise which bears his name and former mayor, together with his son, Melvin E. Anderson, leave New York City August 1st sailing for Sweden where he has been called to preside over the Swedish mission. The latter has accepted a call to serve as a missionary in the Swiss and German Mission, John H. Anderson is one of Logan's prominent citizens. He was elected mayor in 1909. In a church capacity he has been active. He spent two years, 1883-1885, as a missionary to Sweden and eight years as an active worker in the Logan Temple. Mr. Anderson was called from Logan to become bishop of Mendon and acted in that capacity from 1900 to 1903. He was bishop of the Logan Fourth Ward for six years from 1913 to 1919. He was president of the Scandinavian organization in the Cache stake for 10 years and at present is a member of the stake high council. He was a director in the First National Bank from 1902 until 1919 when he was elected president. Mr. Anderson was born here September 24,1864. Melvin E. Anderson, who goes to the Swiss and German Mission graduated from the U.A.C. with the class of 1925, was a member of the Ag Club and a member of the Phi Beta Rho fraternity.
