Knockouts!

Many thanks to Katie at Monkeedom for this little clip from "Monkees in the Ring"!

Okay, I wanted to do something totally different. I'm sure no Monkees page has this. I am putting together a list of all the times one of our guys was knocked out, because I am a totally weird person. Note: This page is under construction and any help is greatly appreciated!

Season One

#2: "Monkee See, Monkee Die"

Victim: Micky

Circumstances: In the "Tomorrow's Gonna Be Another Day" romp sequence, Micky has that bazooka thing and he accidentally knocks it backwards, hitting himself in the forehead. (I'm not too sure about this one. That is to say, I'm not completely sure he got knocked out, but it looked that way!)

#5: "The Spy Who Came In From the Cool"

Victims: Micky and Peter

Circumstances: Micky and Peter try to restrain Boris, but he flings them both back against the wall, where they sink down in unconsciousness.

Victim: Mike

Circumstances: Madame Olinsky was trying to get the microfilm back from Mike, so she used a knock-out karate chop on him so she could start searching for it.

#16: "Son of a Gypsy"

Victim: Micky

Circumstances: One of the crooked gypsies pretends to show Micky the art of reading one's fortune in the tealeaves. Micky then drinks a cup of tea, spiked with knockout drops.

Victim: Mike

Circumstances: Another of the crooked gypsies is pretending to use "furmenology" (sp?)---the art of reading the bumps on one's head---on Mike, and decides to give him a real bump (!).

#17: "The Case of the Missing Monkee"

Victim: Peter

Circumstances: When Peter is wandering through the restaurant, calling for the professor, Dr. Markovitch has one of his henchmen come from behind Peter and knock him out with a mallet.

Victim: Micky

Circumstances: While undercover as a patient at the Remington Clinic, Micky must undergo physical therapy. He pulls on two handles that come out of the wall, and then is told to stretch out his arms. When he does, he goes flying backward and hits his head on the wall.

#20: "Monkees in the Ring"

Victim: Davy

Circumstances: Mr. Sholto cuffs Davy on the chin and accidentally knocks him out.

Victim: Davy

Circumstances: Mike cuffs Davy on the chin and accidentally knocks him out.

Victim: Davy

Circumstances: During the Laugh romp, an arm with a boxing glove comes out of Davy's locker. The first time it hits him he's just dazed, but then it attacks him from behind, coming out of a different locker, and knocks him out.

Victim: Davy

Circumstances: Also during the Laugh romp, Davy is shadow boxing. His shadow suddenly takes on a life of its own, holds up its hands for Davy to stop, and then knocks him out (!).

Victim: Davy (again)

Circumstances: Peter announces that the National Anthem will be sung. Davy raises his right hand to his forehead to salute, forgetting he's still wearing the boxing gloves, and knocks himself out.

#26: "Monkees Chow Mein" (Submitted by Ann. Thank you for the reminder!)

Victim: Micky

Circumstances: The Chinese henchmen are after Peter, but they wind up kidnapping Micky instead. A whack on the head, and they've got themselves a drummer.

Victim: Peter

Circumstances: Peter goes to the Chinese restaurant to rescue Micky and promptly one of the criminals hits him with a mallet.

#28: "Monkees On the Line"

Victim: Mike

Circumstances: Being overwhelmed by all of the telephone calls, and knowing that the girl he was talking to wants to commit suicide, Mike seems to suffer some sort of breakdown. We next see him laying on the table, unconscious and mumbling while the other Monkees try to revive him.

Season Two

#41: "The Card-Carrying Red Shoes"

Victim: Peter

Circumstances: The crooks are about to break in the door, but Peter opens it suddenly. They charge in and accidentally crash into Peter, who falls and hits his head against the crate. He either wakes up or is just dazed at first, as he speaks to the crooks when he's pulled up, but then he passes out and they proclaim him unconscious.

#42: "The Wild Monkees"

Victims: All four!

Circumstances: When the Monkees, after pretending to be a biker gang, see the real biker gang come in, they all pass out in horror.

#43: "A Coffin Too Frequent"

Victim: Micky

Circumstances: Micky wants to take a peek in the coffin before the seance (Monkees are naturally curious, after all), and Mrs. Weatherspoon bops him on the head with her umbrella ("Elmer doesn't like to be disturbed until he's ready").

Victim: Mike

Circumstances: During the Goin' Down romp, Mrs. Weatherspoon hits Mike on the head with the gavel when they're at the courtroom set.

#53: "The Monkees Race Again"

Victims: All four!

Circumstances: The Baron and his henchman come to abduct T.N. and Micky, and they do so by spreading knockout gas throughout the room. All Monkees (and others present) pass out.

#55: "The Monkees Mind Their Manor"

Victim: Davy

Circumstances: Upon hearing that he will have to participate in the quite-possibly dangerous challenges, such as jousting, Davy faints in horror.

#57: "The Monkees Blow Their Minds"

Victim: Peter

Circumstances: Micky and Davy are trying to wake Peter from the hypnotic trance and Davy tries "Experimental Psychology"---hitting him with a mallet.

Victims: Micky and Davy

Circumstances: Micky and Davy go to the Great Oraculo's place and are remarking that Peter is safe from him. Oraculo's henchman, Rudi, then sneaks up behind them and hits them over the head with a mallet.
