PENTOMYCIN
Presentation:
Each ml contains:
200 mg Procaine Penicillin G B.P.
200 mg Dihydrostreptomycin (as sulphate) B.P.
1 mg Methylhydroxybenzoate B.P.
Recommended Use:
Indications for Use: For the treatment of infections caused by bacteria sensitive to penicillin and dihydrostreptomycin.
Species: Cattle, Sheep and Pigs
Dosage and
Administration:
The recommended dose is 4 ml per 100 kg bodyweight i.e. 8,000 I.U. procaine penicillin and 10 mg dihydrostreptomycin per kg.
For intramuscular administration only.

Clean the area of injection and swab with spirit.
The maximum dose volume recommended at any site for cattle is 20 ml.

Contra-Indications
and 
Warnings:
Not to be administered to animals known to be sensitive to penicillins.
Occasional allergies to penicillins have been observed, but these are rare.
Not for use in lactating ewes producing milk for human consumption.
Recommended
Withholding Period:
Milk should not be used for human consumption during treatment or for 72 hours thereafter.
Animals should not be slaughtered for human consumption for 21 days.
Pharmaceutical
Precautions:
Shake well before use.
Store in a cool place, below 25 ºC.
Once a vial is broached, use the contents within 4 weeks.
Keep out of reach of children.
For animal treatment only.
Wash hands after use.
Packing: 100 ml vials.
