Darkslayer: Preface

Dear reader, I hope you enjoy the musings of a sick Thundercats fan. (sort of just kidding)
I have been a Thundercats fan ever since it aired way back in 1985. I have wanted to write a fan fiction story based on the Thundercats characters (or at least in part) for awhile,  I began to think about what would happen if a mutant child (or part mutant) were raised by the Thundercats, and how that child would turn out in adulthood.  I thought it was an interesting idea, and ran through the list of Thundercats characters that might make ideal adoptive parents. I decided the ideal character would be Panthro. Now we all know Panthro, and how stubborn, gruff, and proud he is, I thought it would be interesting to see how he might handle fatherhood, and later on as the story tumbled around in my head, how Panthro would raise a girl, and what she'd be like.
As you might have guessed this is a "Mary Sue" fan-fic or borderline.  I tried not to write the story as sickeningly sappy as some I have seen, and I have done extensive editing to my own, to kind of dull my girl's shine little, because when I finished my first draft, it could have made a billy goat puke! (just in case you think i'm tooting my horn too much) Even after my extensive editing, it might still make you puke, so I apologize beforehand. I really tried to give the main body of characters better time in the spotlight, delve into their current relationships (as I see them) and their pasts as well, while still telling the main story about my character "Ardua" and how her life comes full circle.  I also decided that the Thundercats needed some romance too.(i'll admit a guilty pleasure, forgive me mom!) But I did try to not take it slumming, unlike some of my other work.
This story is about love mainly, but a lot of weird crap happens in between it. Okay,
A lot of people have done it, most notably Cheezey on her fan fic page, so I have selected a few songs that go great (I think) with some of the characters and scenes in "Darkslayer".

Kera- Being the free spirit she is, she just screams 70's disco, techno, and dance music.  Two songs stick out in my mind when I think about her. "Disco Inferno" by "The Trampps" and "Body" by "The Funky Green Dogs"

Tyger and Ardua's relationship and interactions together- The song by "The Pet Shop Boys" "A Different Point Of View" catches their rocky ride to romantic involvement with one another to a "T". (Well, at least from Tyger's point of view)  "Advice For The Young At Heart" by "Tears For Fears" another great love song,  "Nite and Day" by "Al B. Sure", "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Lisa Stansfield, and for the sparring scenes, "Supersonic (the love dub)" by "Jamiroquai"

This is going to look stupid in type but bear with me.

"Moonlight Feels Right" (My all time favorite song, period) by "Starbuck" (It's a 70's song, ask your parents, it got a lot of air play in 1976.) This beauty goes perfectly in the scene of part four, when Tyger and Ardua finish repairing a cultivator (see?) and go for a walk together.

"Bad Girls" by "Donna Summer" Oh, God what a great song for the scene in part seven when the Feliner touches down on Hykksos near a bar. Do yourself a favor, find a copy and play this one while you read the rest of that particular part, you'll pee yourself silly!

During the scene of Ardua's plan making for an escape, and trip to the dungeons in part ten, play the theme from "Shaft" by Isaac Hayes,  "I Can't Wait" by "Nu Shooz", or "I Know What Boys Like" by "The Waitresses" (They wrote the theme to the show "Square Pegs" you guys remember that?)  use which ever song you wish they all fit, it's your preference.
I can think of hundreds more but that gets redundant, and I have been already. I hope that you like the story, it took me three months of work.  I certainly did enjoy writing it.(part of the time)   Love and kissy scratchies, Thundercatroar.
